do that by viewing the page source? can do that easily with firefox not sure about IE

its done even easily with chrome. just rightclick anywhere on the webpage and click view page source and it will open a new tab of the page in html.u might wanna learn some basic foundation for html first.

hacking the landlord

I believe you can use firebug plugin for firefox, and try to change the prices html code to 0. Another way is to change the value sent to the server using proxy such as paros or burpsuite
