I can't agree more. We are having a fruitful discussion here, and it would be detrimental to have you interrupt our intelligent conversation.

Pink and Red are the same colours. Name do not matter, for at what point for a colour really be considered "pink" or "red"? Where would the distinction lie, for pink is no more then a lesser red!

For what point?Ask the person that came up with with it.Anyway.Lighter shade or not.You don't go around seeing people claiming pink as red do you.Now now.There's no need to be profound.Using words such as detrimental.Is not needed here.If you like to show off your vocab skills.I suggest find a forum where everybody there's a hardcore fanboy of english.
You claim that there is no reason for people to see pink as an individual and red as one.But there are millions of people claiming that PINK IS PINK!That's the fact.Let me give you an example.And a living one infact.Go ask your parents(Now now,I'm not being rude)what is pink?They'd probably say.A color.Thus my theory has been proof-ed.You don't see them saying.Oh pink IS a lighter shade of red do you?
