you are using Vista RTM.

I suggest you upgrade to Windows Vista SP2

You can always install ubuntu. Linux Boot loader is good.
it will boot in well.

u can have 2 operative systems on ur computer just need to make a partition in ur hard disk
1 - Windows
2 - Linux (ubuntu, debian, red hat, mandrake, mandriba, suse, any linux distro)

anyway ur computer suport win vista, 7 and linux (any distro)
also suport all of this operative systems on virtual machines ur computer got enuff power
